OUTDOOR STONE AND BRICK FIREPLACE COMPANY
If you don’t already have an outdoor stone or brick fireplace it’s time to get one! Outdoor fireplaces are what we call the "WOW Factor" within your outdoor living space. From a functional point of view they create warmth so you can still enjoy the outdoors and entertaining on cooler evenings! Even during the warmer months you can create a small fire within the fireplace to create a pleasant backdrop. ARNOLD Masonry has been creating outdoor stone and brick fireplaces since 1985! Yes that’s 31 years! Our service areas include but not limited to; Buckhead, Marietta, Roswell, North Atlanta, Vinings,Cumming, Johns Creek. We even go out of state depending on the size of the project! A lot of companies build there fireplaces differently. So one of the main questions a lot of our clients ask is “How do you build your fireplaces?” Well this blog is going to give you insight of how we build our outdoor stone and brick fireplaces!
HOW DO WE CONSTRUCT A STONE OR BRICK FIREPLACE?
All of our outdoor fireplaces are custom designed and constructed. We start off either on an existing patio, or a patio we are currently constructing for you. This would include us adding additional structural support to the footing which consists of steel rebar tied together within the concrete. Then after letting the concrete cure for at least 24 hours we start to build the “skeleton” of the fireplace / chimney. Outdoor stone and brick fireplaces are custom built so any shape or size is possible. There are many types of materials available as well. Within the firebox we install hardened full sized fire brick which can withstand the hottest fire imaginable! Then we move to the outside of the fireplace. We install the brick or stone of your choosing along with the specific custom design. Another amazing addition is a hearth! It allows for additional seating or a ledge to put various objects on. Then when everything is done the final step is to let all of the mortar cure which usually only takes a day or two! After its done curing you can make your first fire in a new stone or brick fireplace!
