How do we construct a firepit?

We start off either on an existing patio, or a patio we are constructing for you. This would include the necessary footing for adequate structural support which consists of steel rebar and concrete. Then we use concrete block to build the “frame”. All of our pits are custom built so any shape and size is possible. On the inside we install hardened full sized fire brick which can withstand the hottest fire imaginable! On the outside of the block we set the stone of your choosing or brick. The most popular is Tennessee Fieldstone "medium dry stack". Fieldstone is a type of stone that is literally mined from the surface of our planet versus other types of stone which is mined from within. For the perimeter wall cap we use a flagstone of your choosing! Flagstone is mined from within the Earth ( As mentioned above). Flagstone is millions of years of compressed sand and minerals! The area of the country and planet which flagstone is mined dictates its density, colors and other characteristics including its ease or difficulty in tooling ( hand hewing by the mason). Last but not least we install weep holes at the bottom so when it rains all water will drain from the pit.
